Miskolc
Miskolc is the third largest city in Hungary with more than 200.000 inhabitants. It is located in the Northern part of the country in the Bkk mountains. It's a big industrial town so we can find a lot of factories here.
Most of the inhabitans live in housing estates in high blocks of flats. But there are a lot of beautiful places in the outskirt of the town. In these suburbs people usually live in nice houses. They are very quiet and peaceful parts of the town. In the centre of the city we can find almost everything. There are enormous new shopping centres, cinemas, museums, restaurants,and cafs etc...
In Miskolc there are a lot of pIaces to see. On the top of Avas hill we can see the Avas lookout-tower which became the symbol of Miskolc.
Here we can find the Miskolc National Theatre which was the first Hungarian speaking, stone-built theatre of Hungary. lt's a beautiful building with wonderful stages and auditorium.
In Disgyr we can see the impressive Disgyr Castle surrounded by forests and enormous chestnut trees.
In Lillafred we walk in the wonderful parks of the Palace Hotel, we can see the Waterfalls there, and we can row a boat on Pond Hmor.
In Tapolca there is the famous Cave Bath, here you can have a bath inside a big dark cave. In the park you can walk among beautiful flowers and trees.
If you want to do some sports you can choose from a lot of facilities. There are three open air swimming pools in the town. You can row on lake Csorba or watch football matches in DVTK stadium.
In the city there are a lot of schools (primary and secondary schools) and here we can find Miskolc University where students can continue their studies as lawyers, economists, engineers, teachers, etc...
